in 1986 Lucas films sold the graphics department (pixar) to steve jobs (apple) for $10,000,000 dollars, from there the department was renamed to Pixar after the pixar image computer they made when with Lucas films,

after these years of partnership Walt Disney saw the value of the company and out right brought the company in 2006,

After this new change and development the pixar company carried on created animation films like Ratatouille in 2007 which was they first film under their new parent company.
after the starting of the new format and changes the company created a line up of yearly knock out films like Wall-E in 2008, UP (2009) and the finale to the Toy story trilogy: Toy Story 3.
then in 2010 Pixar revisited the loved Cars franchise and created a sequel to the film and made Cars 2
